 Join Shawnee Town in partnership with Aztec Shawnee Theater the 2024 historical film series!  Films will be showing at the newly and beautifully restored Aztec Shawnee Theater at 11119 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203. We look forward to seeing you at the movies.

Enjoy an evening of classic romance in downtown Shawnee this Valentine’s Day, sponsored by Shawnee Town 1929 Museum!

A perfect date night, attend this one–night only showing of iconic 1935 film “TOP HAT” featuring Fred Astaire and Kansas City-native Ginger Rogers dancing across the historic Aztec Shawnee Theater screen! Tickets are just $8 each and BONUS: special Valentine’s Packages will be available as the perfect gift! Registration required.

Friends of Shawnee Town 1929 are free general admission with pre-registration by calling (913) 248–2360. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the film starts at 7:00 pm. Specialty cocktails, beverages and snacks will be available for purchase, and non–beverage food truck purchases can be brought inside. The Wizard of Oz

Celebrate the 85th anniversary of this iconic cultural milestone, THE WIZARD OF OZ! Starring Judy Garland as Kansas farm girl Dorothy, this cinematic masterpiece premiered in August 1939 to widespread acclaim. Watch the film as it was originally seen on screen at the historic 1927 Aztec Shawnee Theater!

Tickets for August 21 are $8.00 and available through the link below. Doors open at 6:00 pm and the film starts at 7:00 pm. Cocktails, beverages, and snacks will be available for purchase and purchases from the food trucks can be brought into the theater. The Werewolf of London and The Wolfman

The wolves are descending on the historic Aztec Shawnee Theater... kick off Howl-o-ween with Shawnee Town 1929 Museum’s horror DOUBLE FEATURE: 1935’s The Werewolf of London and 1941’s The Wolfman!

Featuring horror icons from Universal Studios original Monster film era, you won’t want to miss this spectacle on the big screen of Shawnee’s original 1927 theater! Tickets are $10 and include admission to both feature films. This Double Feature will run for 3 weeks on Wednesdays, October 16, 23, and 30. The Werewolf of London starts at 6:30 pm, followed by an intermission and The Wolfman at 8:00 pm. Doors open one hour before.

Don’t forget to wolf down on concessions! Cocktails, beverages, and snacks will be available. Food truck purchases can also be brought inside.
