Another Incredible Shawnee Town Season

Another Incredible Shawnee Town Season
It seems the years breeze by quicker than they used to, maybe that is because we are serving more and more people each year.  Our attendance at the museum is up, thanks to our curriculum-based field trips, our in-depth mission-based programs, our spot on exhibits and our engaging special events.  On the other hand, maybe it is because life, in general, is just busier these days.  Life moves at a faster pace than it did back in 1929.

It’s also safe to say that the word has gotten out about all of the fun and excitement that’s taking place at Shawnee Town 1929, and we couldn't be happier about it!  Change is inevitable; it can be scary and it can be hard...We are thrilled to see that with all of the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep up with these changes; the interest in our site and our programs has risen.  We are constantly looking for new ways to reach the masses and give them quality programming, where they can learn while having a good time.

We couldn’t make all of these programs, classes and events happen without the support of our amazing Friends of Shawnee Town Board of Trustees, Friends of Shawnee Town members, our consistent volunteers and our hard-working staff.

Our Friends of Shawnee Town Board of Trustees has assisted us, financially, with the purchase of museum artifacts, bus subsidies for the multitude of schoolchildren who have visited us this year, from a wide range of schools throughout the Kansas City Metro, as well as helped fund educational programs throughout the year.  We couldn’t do all of this without your support!

So if you’re reading this, our last newsletter of 2017, please know that you had a role in helping us reach our goal and fulfill our mission at Shawnee Town 1929.  For that, we say thank you!  Enjoy the Holidays with your family and friends and look for more information on our 2018 calendar of events in the near future.  Until then, keep in touch with us by following us on social media!
